Let’s Get To Know Each Other!

Hi!

It’s important to be comfortable with each other going into a session and in order to be comfortable we have to get to know each other a little bit. So here we go…

I have 17,000 photos on my iPhone. Have I mentioned I love taking pictures?! I want to remember it all, so you better believe I’m ready to snap the pics every chance I can.

I grew up in Hutchinson, KS, graduated from Kansas State University, married the man of my dreams, and moved five times in our first five years of marriage. Fast forward just a bit (have I mentioned how fast time flies?!) and we now have a home that is filled with three boys, laughter, tears, messiness, a lot of nerf gun wars, legos, superheroes, the occasional crayon on the wall, and a lot of memories in frames.

I believe in “being me,” loving the person God created me to be, and striving to use the gifts He has given me to serve others around me.

My husband gifted me with my first camera seven years ago and what was once a hobby has now turned into Gibbens Photography. I’m so thankful for those of you who have trusted me to capture special memories for you. This journey has reconnected me to many special people and it has introduced me to new people and I can’t wait for more!

My People

David and I met at K-State and we were friends for a couple of years before we dated. We got married shortly after we graduated and began our lives in Wichita, KS with our dog Harper.

We have lived in Alexandria, VA (if you ever visit, you have to go get some homemade poptarts at Ted’s Bulletin!) and Kansas City (go Chiefs!) and now we are back in Wichita where it all began.

Our life is usually a lot of crazy and a whole lot of love. We love the noise, the mess and the sweetness that our boys brings into our lives.

A lot of people say “my hands are full” but I like to say “my heart is full.”

When I’m Not Behind The Camera

I am an HR professional by day for a remote technology company, so no - photography isn’t my full time job, but perhaps one day it will be!

You can usually find me at a sports practice or game, doing some sort of craft with the kids, watching the Chiefs with my husband, or shopping on Amazon from the couch.

I love DIY home projects - not the kind that requires a demo day, but the little changes that bring more joy to the place you call home.

I love the warm weather, large family gatherings, a good dance party with my kids, and apple crisp (with extra crisp).

My Style

My editing style is grounded in simple, warm, natural tones that brings an image to life.
My desired colors to work with are earthly tones - white, cream, tan, clay, olive green, terracotta, blush, light blue - and I love when there is a mixture of patterns and textures. There is a lot of work that happens behind the scenes in my editing sessions ini hopes of giving you images you love for a lifetime!
